- Abstract
The article presents a study, which deals with the performance of adult males on the research form of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) and the Holtzman Inkblot Technique (HIT) after they had viewed a stress film. The second of two exploratory studies was conducted to ascertain the effects of a stress-producing film on the performance of Ss administered the HIT and the STAI immediately after viewing the film. Statistical analyses revealed differentiation between experimental and control 1Ss on the STAI A-State scales and on three HIT variables, which demonstrated both instruments' ability to detect differences in state anxiety.
