- Abstract
The article provides some insights into the implications of irresponsible journalism in lay press on clinical research in the United States. Reporter David Willman who wrote the article "A Times Investigation: Drug Trials with a Dose of Doubt," accused Dr. Thomas Walsh of the National Institutes of Health, was accused of unethical conduct in two randomized controlled trials of antifungal therapy for persistent neutropenic fever.
