- Abstract
Reports that drug-resistant malaria is one of the major public health challenges facing Africa. Information that there has been a strong push to encourage countries in Africa to adopt artemisinin-based combination treatment (ACT) as first-line treatment for uncomplicated malaria as soon as possible; Finding that the most countries in Africa using ACTs are currently choosing between artemetherlumefantrine and artesunate plus amodiaquine; View that the difference between recrudescence and reinfection is potentially important at the public health level.
