- Abstract
The article reports on a high-apperture-ratio pixel design of vertical alignment (VA)-liquid crystal display (LCD) without protrusion structure on color-filter (CF) substrate. The liquid-crystal mode referred as the hole-induced vertical-alignment mode (Hi-VA) uses a via hole of an organic layer on a thin film transistor (TFT) substrate for a multi-domain alignment. It finds that the Hi-VA mode has a high transmittance to 135% with a contrast ratio of 2000:1.
