First person profile: Ching-Hon Pui, MD: An internationally renowned pediatric oncologist, Dr. Pui helped to push the cure rate for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia to more than 90% When Ching-Hon Pui, MD, was a young boy growing up in Hong Kong, he saw a movie that left an indelible impression. Eventually, Dr. Pui assumed leadership positions at St. Jude and took the baton from Donald Pinkel, MD, and Joseph Simone, MD, who in the 1970s had pushed the cure rate for ALL to 50%.
