- Abstract
The article discusses the treatment of bipolar depression. Evidence suggest that bipolar depression is the most common and difficult to treat phase of bipolar disorder (BD) and causes the most psychosocial disability and risk of suicide. Scant data as to the management of bipolar depression presents significant challenges for clinicians thus individual and combination pharmacotherapy integrated into a personalized psychosocial and lifestyle package of intervention can be helpful in treatment.
