- Abstract
The article investigates whether transvaginal sonographic length predicts preterm birth in women with multiple prior induced abortions. Results reveal that a cervical length of less than 25 mm on transvaginal ultrasound is predictive of preterm birth in women with more than one prior induced abortion. Women with multiple prior induced abortions and a short cervix have a 3.3-fold greater chance of spontaneous preterm birth compared with those with a cervical length of more than 25 mm.
