- Abstract
The author discusses the necessity of ensuring the quality of pharmaceuticals from the research stage to their commercial manufacturing. He explores regulations of raw materials in the U.S. and Europe, as well as a survey conducted by drug company SAFC into the maintenance of security across the pharmaceutical supply chain. He makes several quality assurance recommendations for pharmaceutical companies, including communication with suppliers, risk assessment, and process audits.
