- Abstract
The authors reflect on the study which examines the relevance of the application of steroid gel during extensive endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) to prevent significant esophageal strictures. The authors say that in patient having recalcitrant esophageal stricture associated with large post-ESD mucosal defect, combination of methods may decrease the need for repeat dilation. They state that based on the research no significant difference was observed in the rate of stricture.
