- Title
Dual blockade of the renin-angiotensin system with angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs).
- Authors
Ritter, J. M.
- Abstract
The author reflects on how renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system could be blocked. The author notes that simultaneous blockade of several points with an addition of an aldosterone antagonist to an angiotensin, which converts enzyme (ACE) inhibitor and AT1 receptor antagonists (ARBs), is therapeutically beneficial. He examines the combined use of ACE inhibitor with ARB and the use of albumin excretion for renal injury.
