TREATMENT OF BOWEN'S DISEASE WITH GRENZ RAYS.
- Authors
Stevens, Dwight M.; Kope, Alfred W.; Gladstein, Arthur; Bart, Robert S.
- Abstract
Bowden's disease can be treated successfully with various modalities. Although surgical excision is considered the treatment of choice by many authors, Moh's surgery, cryotherapy, topical 5-fluorouracil, curettage-electrodesiccation, and local immunotherapy with dinitrochlorobenzene have also been used. Clinically, Bowen's disease is characterized by an erythematous, scaly, sharply demarcated plaque, usually irregular, in outline. It may show crusting, nodularuty or erosion. This persistent lesion spreads very slowly by peripheral extension, usually over a period of many years.
