- Abstract
The article describes a transparent slight brownish gray cabochon with intense blue adularescence examined at the Gem TechLab of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Represented as a natural moonstone, microscopic examination showed a very distinct separation plane indicating that the gem was assembled. It contained inclusions and cleavage cracks in two directions suggested it was natural feldspar.
