The article discusses the study "Computer Applications in Economic Development: A Report to the Profession," prepared by a research team at Cleveland State University, as of 1987. Findings include the increasing number of economic development associations (EDOs) in the U.S. that are making some use of computers, the slow progress in expanding the use of computers beyond word processing, the high frequency of use of Lotus 1-2-3 software, and a typical computer budget of 7,500 dollars per EDO.
