- Abstract
The article presents a case study of dapsone induced methaemoglobinaemia. Dapsone, a sulphonamide derivative, has been previously used in the treatment of malaria, leprosy and dermatitis herpetiformis. It has been in the past indicated as a third or fourth line agent in the treatment of prophylaxis of Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in patients infected with the human immunodeficiency virus.
