- Abstract
Presents a study on the gene expression profile in rat gastrocnemius muscle using combined RT-PCR/cDNA array approach. Expression of gened involved in lipid uptake and utilization increases during fasting; Effects of fasting on gene expression involved in facilitating transport of oxidative phosphorylation products; Expression of genes encoding free radical scavengers, kinases, heat shock proteins and transcription factors present on the cDNA array; Conclusions of the study.
