- Abstract
The article presents a study that aims to identify Pneumocystis jirovecii internal transcribed spacer types in European patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). In this study, 45 pulmonary samples from 45 COPD patients were examined. Results showed that Pneumocystis jirovecii was initially detected in pulmonary samples using polymerase chain reaction assay at the mitochondrial large subunit ribosomal RNA gene.
