- Abstract
Compares Streptococcus pneumoniae isolates causing invasive disease with those from nasopharyngeal carriage among children in Oxford, England with the use of multilocus sequence typing. Relation of the prevalence of individual clones and serotypes among isolates from invasive disease to their prevalence in carriage; Variations in the ability of all major carried clones and serotypes to cause invasive disease.
