- Authors
Alminde, Sarah; Warming, Hanne
- Abstract
This article discusses the challenges and dilemmas faced in ensuring children's rights and wellbeing in the Nordic countries. Despite being regarded as frontrunners in this field, the Nordic countries still struggle to ensure equal rights for children and face various challenges to their wellbeing. The article focuses on the implementation of Article 12 of the UNCRC, which addresses children's right to participation, and highlights the difficulties in achieving this right in various contexts. The contributions to this Special Issue emphasize the need for a more child-centric approach to policy and practice in order to ensure children's participation and wellbeing.
