- Abstract
This article discusses the production of city dramas. It seeks to return urbanism's metaphor of performance to the ground of embodied practices. It explains a juxtaposition that spotlights the place of performance in the constitution of the history of global cities. It reflects on the conflict over the production and experience of the modern city in Chicago, Illinois, and other globalized conurbations. In addition, the article analyzes some city dramas such as "Eight Hours" and "Lost Buildings" to address the call for archeological performance.
