- Abstract
This article presents a progress report by the Committee on Research in College Science of the National Association for Research in Teaching which was presented during the Association's 1951 meeting in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This committee made its final report at the 1950 meeting on its original assignment of surveying the types and trends in general education science courses at the college level. At this time it was reorganized along with the general reorganization of committees and increased in membership. Following the 1950 meeting the membership of the committee was polled to determine the specific interest areas within the general assignment in which the members wished to work. The following areas were defined: (1) Review of current published and unpublished literature in the field of science in general education at the college level. (2) Study of problem in evaluating attitudinal and other non-factual objectives in general education college science courses. (3) Study of curriculum and subject-matter problems.
