- Abstract
The author comments on the controversies surrounding the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's regulation of pet foods. The controversies arose when a number of pet dogs and cats reportedly died after eating contaminated pet food in April 2007. The author observed that after hearing the news, people demanded that the FDA become more involved in the regulation of pet foods. She also observed that other critics demanded that the FDA implement more stringent food labeling requirements.
