- Title
Conflict in Perceived Parent/Child Sport Ability Judgments.
- Authors
McElroy, Mary A.; Kirkendall, Don R.
- Abstract
The article presents a study of perceived parent and child sport ability judgments and related social conflicts. The authors predict that children who think their parents have the same sport ability judgment as they do will have higher self-esteem than those children who think their parents have a different sport ability judgment. Children were asked to answer questions regarding their own sport ability judgment and their perceived parental judgment. For the most part, the results support the hypothesis.
