- Authors
Humphries, Simon
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the poem "Goblin Market" by Christina Rossetti is presented. It discusses the theological profundity of the poem, including allusions to Eucharistic symbols, the Edenic Fall of Man, and the city of Babylon in the book of "Revelation." The Anglican Book of Common Prayer and its influence on Eucharistic symbols is discussed, along with an intertextual discussion on the influence of the book "Pilgrim's Progress" by John Bunyan.
