Uso de ultrassonografia para o estudo morfométrico do ligamento nucal em equinos.

- Abstract
O estudo das patologias envolvendo as estruturas do pescoço equino vem despertando interesse científico. A porção funicular do ligamento nucal é de extrema importância, contudo, examinar cavalos hígidos com o intuito de obter um padrão para as estruturas é necessário. O presente trabalho resulta em um estudo com 30 animais hígidos de três diferentes faixas etárias da raça Quarto de Milha, com o objetivo de buscar um referencial numérico para a estrutura utilizando a ultrassonografia. Os grupos foram divididos entre animais de 18 a 24 meses (G1), 25 a 34 meses (G2) e 35 a 44 meses (G3), não sendo necessária a sedação dos animais para a realização da avaliação. Os exames de ultrassonografia foram realizados com o aparelho Sonoscape® modelo E1V, utilizando transdutor linear modelo L741, com frequência entre 4,0 e 8,6 Mega-hertz, utilização de álcool 70% e gel à base de carboximetilcelulose, sem a realização da tricotomia local para as avaliações. As imagens ultrassonográficas identificaram o ligamento nucal com ecogenicidade diminuída em relação ao tendão do músculo semispinalis capitis, além da camada de gordura presente na área. Na avaliação morfométrica da espessura da porção funicular do ligamento nucal em milímetros, notaram-se diferenças entre os grupos. Animais do G1 apresentaram média de 9,62 mm; os do G2, média de 10,06mm; e animais do G3, média de 10,17mm. A porção funicular do ligamento nucal se apresentou com espessura média de 9,95mm, correlacionando os três grupos estudados. Deste modo, conclui-se que a ultrassonografia é uma ferramenta útil para o estudo morfométrico da porção funicular do ligamento nucal.
