- Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges facing the Catholic Health Association and its constituent facilities in the U.S. at the advent of integrated delivery health legislation reforms. Six major environmental factors which could hinder Catholic hospitals and service providers are outlined and analyzed. Challenges include socio-economic inequalities in local communities being served, negative or poor financial performance of certain providers, and the ununified diversity of lay and clerical leaders within institutions.
