- Abstract
This article proposes a discussion about the contribution of Design Thinking as a methodological resource in Higher Education. A conceptualization is presented about Design Thinking and its application in the educational context through the report of an immersive and innovative experience with students of the journalism course of a private educational institution during which it occurred online due to the suspension of face-to-face classes on the occasion of sanitary protocols for containment covid-19 in Brazil. To deepen the understanding of the power of this resource in university education, an experience is presented that brings together the use of Design Thinking combined with a digital resource. The action is based on the use of the Miro platform, as a technological resource to promote immersion, interaction and the use of opportunity management tools for the creation of products by students. The steps that define Design thinking as a methodology in the development of a workshop for the creation of editorial products are presented. The development of this Integrator Project (workshop) with journalism students is described step by step with the objective of presenting the methodological path and the results obtained in each phase in the construction of the final project. As a result, students present innovative projects and demonstrate mastery of the tools and digital resources for presenting each editorial product idea. The experience allowed the articulation between theory and practice, through the experience of each stage of Design Thinking, supported by a digital resource. This allowed breaking with traditional methodologies and offered the possibility of interaction and experimentation in a virtual environment, responding to contemporary formative demands for higher education.
