- Abstract
The management of waste generated in Water Treatment Stations - ETA is the object of several studies, and its indiscriminate disposal constitutes a great environmental liability. Among the waste generated, the water used in the cleaning processes of the filters stands out, which is often indiscriminately released into the environment. This work refers to the development and performance evaluation of a water reuse system for washing ETA's filters followed by a sludge dehydration system. The waste treatment practiced by sanitation companies shows that the constant search for better results is necessary. The awareness about the polluting potential of these inputs makes us seek alternatives for the treatment and correct final destination. In this context, there are the effluents originating from the WTP in the district of Iara - Barro - CE, whose tailings generated in the washing of filters are being released on private land located next to the treatment system. The proposed solution refers to the construction of a Generated Tailings Treatment Station (ETRG), drainage beds to treat the water from washing filters, reusing it in the initial cycle of the treatment process, aiming at reducing the flow of supply water. human. In addition, the objective is also to treat the sludge and provide a suitable final destination. Therefore, with the construction of the ETRG, it is expected to solve the problem of inadequate disposal and reduce the flow of raw water, which comes from the source, by reusing the water from the washing of the filters, as well as meeting a condition of SEMACE for renewal of the License of Operation of Water and comply with a determination of the Regulatory Agency - ARCE in relation to the treatment of the sludge and a suitable destination for the same.
