- Abstract
A pot experiment was carried out in 2016-2017 with the medicinal plant Calendula officinalis L. on different soil types - Leached Vertisol from the region of Bozhurishte and Fluvisol from the region of Tsalapitsa. This study investigated the effects of soil improvers in comparison to the traditionally used manure. The combination of soil and foliar fertilization ensures optimal plant nutrition and high quality of the biologically active substances of marigold. So, it is shown that the examined new organic fertilizers (Humipromoter and Biopromoter) in combination with 2 types of foliar bio stimulators liquid fertilizers containing amino acids (Aminosol and Amminostim bio) give a positive effect to plant growth. The ANOVA analysis for yield of biomass (g/pot) indicates that the influence of soil factors and different fertilization treatments is statistically significant at a variation level P <0.1%. Data variation due to different soil type is 44.9%, and for different types of fertilizers - 21.8%. The yields obtained from the soil type Leached Vertisols are nearly twice as high as those of the Fluvisols, as the differences are proved at P <0.5%.
