- Abstract
The measurement and evaluation of color as a quality characteristic of a manufactured product is a fundamental aspect, because in addition to being a required specification, color is the first attribute that the customer perceives. An alternative of color measurement at low cost is presented, the development and installation of an artificial vision system (AVS) under suitable conditions so that the captured image approximates the color of the original object is described, also is exposes the calibration of the camera. The results of the system were validated by expert color evaluators at industrial when comparing the color of the capture of the AVS against the real object. The AVS was able to reproduce in some cases the color in a faithful way, so is shown that the measurement of color with the AVS can be comparable to the visual evaluation.
