- Title
Value to the Owner: A Clarification.
- Authors
Wright, F. K.
- Abstract
This article comments on researcher R. J. Chambers' objections on the concept of value to the owner in accounting procedures. The first objection that Chamber raises against the concept of value to the owner is that there are but few assets to which it could be applied. Chamber also turns to the assertions of some experts to the effect that this value has as its limiting magnitudes resale price and replacement price, assuming rational behavior. The author uses an adducing counter-examples that is very powerful and economic mode of argument to clarify the thoughts presented by Chamber.
