- Abstract
An essay is presented in which the author discusses teaching a law school course entitled "Legal Issues of the American Civil War." According to the article, the class examines how several legal controversies during the U.S. Civil War and Reconstruction era shaped U.S. jurisprudence. The article discusses several sources used in the class, the methodology used in the classroom, and the grading system of the class.
