- Abstract
The article discusses a study that compared the triglyceride-lowering effect of treatment with plasmapheresis and that of treatment without plasmapheresis in patients with hypertriglyceridemic pancreatitis. The results indicate no significant differences in median serum triglyceride concentration, hospital mortality, pancreatic infection and requirement for invasive procedures between the patients who underwent plasmapheresis and those who did not.
