Investigates the role of hepatocyte nuclear factor (HNF) 1beta gene in maturity-onset diabetes of the young (MODY) families recruited through referrals from hospital-based diabetologists in Great Britain. Examination of mutations in the HNF-1beta gene by specific screening for the R177X mutation; Autosomal dominant inheritance.
