The author discusses a study by E. S. Taglauer and colleagues which demonstrated the deleterious effects of the preeclamptic intrauterine environment on fetal and postnatal lung development. Topics include information on bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), factor that may prove effective in preventing BPD, and pleiotropic effects of mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs).
