- Abstract
An 81-year-old female patient with no medical history presented with a 1-day history of inflammatory upper cervical spine and occipital region pain. A cervical computed tomography (CT) scan was performed revealing a crown-like calcification surrounding the odontoid process and no sign of an infectious process (Fig. Considering the age of the patient, the CT scan findings, and the case progression, the hypothesis of infectious processes was unlikely and the diagnosis of CDS was established.
