- Abstract
The article presents information related to U.S. engineer Alfred Noble, who was frequently called upon by high government officials to serve as an expert for crucial public works projects. It is noted that the Galveston Seawall along the Gulf of Mexico in Texas was another unique leading-edge public works project that garnered Noble considerable international attention in addition to his extensive work on bridges, canals and harbors.
