- Abstract
Earthquake loads that will act over a structure can be determined by static and dynamic methods. One of the static analysis methods is the calculation of design acceleration spectra. 2007 Turkish Earthquake Code was replaced by 2018 Turkey Earthquake Code. Spectral acceleration values defined according to both regulations and soil predominant periods were compared for different soil classes in Eskisehir. Calculations were made using the data of 40 drillings carried out in Eskisehir city center. The predominant periods defined for Eskisehir in the 2007 Turkish earthquake code are constant for same local soil class. These values for the 2018 Turkish Earthquake Code vary depending on the region where the drilling is done. Results revealed that predominant periods differ slightly from each other for the same soil class while change in spectral accelerations is more pronounced for same local soil class according to 2018 Turkish Earthquake Building code.
