- Abstract
David Fallon's piece on Wollstonecraft's publisher offers a tender portrayal of the man who supported Wollstonecraft personally as well as professionally. Readers may be surprised to find that "feminist" is among those labels that Tomaselli rejects for Wollstonecraft: she asserts that whether Wollstonecraft should be counted a feminist or not is debatable. Though Tomaselli reserves for Wollstonecraft the description of a philosopher, she eschews other labels that have all too often been affixed to Wollstonecraft only to becloud her thought and distract from her life's work.
