- Abstract
The present work is enclosed in the field of theory and analysis of the literary genres. Because of the leading role that it has featured in recent literature, the study which carries out right after has like aims the analysis of parody genre. Both in Theory of Literature and the artistic production field, parody has gained the attention of many critics and authors. This project takes on the theoretical dimension; that is a diachronic study of the theorists' contributions concerning parody. In order to this, we will be analyzing the features which have defined parody along Theory of Literature, according to its etymology, comicalness, double dialectics and the reader. Besides, we reflect on the limits of this intergenre and its differences in relation to genres close to it. Finally, we will be showing parody at its three states, premodern, modern and postmodern, in order to understand parody from different viewpoint: duality and fusion of texts. Regarding methodology, a biographic review has been carried through the main studies about parody, including some extracted reading knowledge. The purpose of this project is to denote in detail which the attributed characteristics of parody have been throughout the history of this gender. In that context, we can support that, despite the recent increase in the studies related to parody, the number of research made lengthwise literary history is still limited.
