The article focuses on a study that was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of initiating insulin detemir to improve glycemic control without weight gain in OAD-treated insulin-naive patients with type 2 diabetes. Insulin detemir resulted in improvements in glycemic control and a decrease in body weight.
