- Title
The Effect of Injection Molding Conditions on the Morphology of Polymer Structural Foams.
- Authors
Barzegari, M. Reza; Rodrigue, Denis
- Abstract
The article discusses the process of injection molding structural foam. The authors analyze and evaluate conditions involved with injection molding in order to identify the most significant processing variables associated with the morphology of structural foams. Such factors include cell density, cell size, and skin thickness. Other topics of discussion include the use of the Taguchi method in association with the design of experiment (DOE) analysis and determining the optimum conditions necessary to produce high quality foams.
