Syngenta shoot-out in Brazil leaves two dead.
- Abstract
The article reports on a shoot out that happened in a farm in Brazil owned by agricultural biotechnology company Syngenta AG. It relates that the shoot out was preceed by a demontration from an activist group denouncing the genetically modified crops of the company and left one guard and one activist dead. Moreover, it adds that a Syngenta spokesperson described the incident as a dramatic and violent confrontation between the guards and the demonstrators. Meanwhile, it relates that the guards' contracts stipulates that they are allowed to use any weapons.
