- Authors
Hudson Jr., David L.
- Abstract
The article discusses the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Garcetti v. Ceballos involving First Amendment free speech protections for public employees. It details how the Court created a categorical rule that government employees have no free speech rights when engaged in official, job-related speech. It also addresses several lower court decisions that illustrate how Garcetti has led to unfair results and diminished the free speech rights of public employees.
