- Abstract
The article discusses black contemporary social movements in America in relation to a grassroots initiative which was developed in the Black community in the U.S. and is designed to eliminate police and vigilante violence against Blacks across the country. Black musical activism is addressed, along with resource mobilization and various social groups such as Black Lives Matter, Ferguson Action, and Say Her Name. Civil-rights movements in the U.S. are assessed, along with Black hop-hop artists.
