- Abstract
This article discusses the use of fluorescence navigation surgery for sigmoid colon diverticulitis with adjacent organ fistula. The surgery involves the insertion of a fluorescent ureteral catheter to mitigate the risk of ureteral injury. The patients also underwent blood flow evaluation using indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging. The article presents two cases of laparoscopic sigmoidectomy for diverticulitis, one involving a sigmoidovesical fistula and the other with an iliopsoas abscess. The authors demonstrate that fluorescence navigation surgery with a fluorescent ureteral catheter and ICG blood flow technique is effective for sigmoid colon diverticulitis with an adjacent organ fistula.
