- Title
Fire 1, and Why It Should Worry You (At Least a Little Bit).
- Authors
Jacobson, Gary P.
- Abstract
The author argues on the need for doctor of philosophy (P.h.D.) holders in audiology who will conduct applied and basic research. The author highlights the data from the American Academy of Audiology about the number of clinicians with Ph. D.s, which is identical with that of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The author claims that he raises the issue due to the unfavorableimplication of the shortage in scholars from whom the journal relies on manuscripts submission.
