- Abstract
The article discusses a study that reviewed the efficacy of omental plugging technique for removing eroded laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB). The study retrospectively reviewed the operative technique and indications of this method in 17 cases and results revealed that there were no postoperative complications. On follow up, three showed weight gain with two needing rebands at 6 and 8 months. The study suggests that omental plugging is a way of managing LAGB erosion and also suited for patients where endoscopic option is difficult.
