- Authors
Fisher, Amanda E.; Clark, Lynn G.
- Abstract
The article offers information on proposal to conserve the name Chusquea scandens against Nastus chusque. It informs that Chusquea scandens is widely distributed and abundant in the northern and central Andes of Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. It mentions that scientist Kunth described the new bamboo species as Nastus ehusque, due to its single, fertile floret per spikelet, a character shared by the Paleotropical woody bamboo genus Naslus.
