- Abstract
The article offers guidelines for the proactive healing strategy for tackling biofilm-based surgical site complications in wounds, including the role of biofilm in surgical site infections, wound hygiene protocol of care, management protocol for wound hygiene implemented in surgical wounds, and wound hygiene holistic framework that apply throughout the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative periods.
