Prevalência Comparativa de Ametropia Entre Estudantes de Escola Pública Rural e Urbana no DF.

- Abstract
Introdução:Tendo em vista que a ametropia representa fator de risco estabelecido para inúmeras condições oftalmológicas, o estudo de sua prevalência em uma população pediátrica torna-se imprescindível para identificação precoce de danos oculares e prevenção dos erros permanentes à visão binocular. Metodologia:Este estudo utilizou os dados obtidos em Mutirões Oftalmológicos realizados em Centro de Ensino Fundamental (CEF) de Ceilândia e em CEF da Zona Rural do Núcleo Boa Esperança, em maio e agosto de 2017, respectivamente. Participaram 210 de 1350 alunos, previamente selecionados pelos professores com base em suspeita, e classificados por sexo, faixa etária e alterações na acuidade visual. Todos passaram pela anamnese e exame ocular. Para o teste de acuidade visual utilizou-se tabela de Snellen. Foi feita ciclopegia com colírios de Tropicamida 1% e Ciclopentolato 1% nos estudantes que apresentavam resultados inferiores a 20/30 em pelo menos um dos olhos na acuidade visual. Posteriormente, mediu-se a refratometria pelo auto-refrator, com confirmação da refração final pelo refrator de Greens. Resultados:Em CEF Rural de Boa Esperança, dos 176 olhos analisados, 92 olhos eram de pacientes do sexo feminino e 84 olhos de pacientes do sexo masculino. Um total de 96 olhos (54,5%) foram classificados como emétropes, 60 (34,1%) astigmatas, 9 (5,1%) hipermétropes, e nenhum foi portador de miopia pura. 6 pacientes apresentavam astigmatismo e hipermetropia associados. Quanto ao CEF de Ceilândia, obteve-se a análise de 242 olhos, 138 de pacientes femininos e 104 de masculinos. Destes, 122 olhos (50,4%) eram emétropes, 8 (3,3%) hipermétropes, 25 (10,3%) míopes e 87 (35,9%) astigmatas. A avaliação oftalmológica primária é imprescindível uma vez que cerca de 15% das crianças da primeira série escolar possui alguma alteração visual e apenas 20% dessa população recebe acompanhamento médico. O teste de acuidade visual pode ser considerado simples, acessível e deveria ser amplamente utilizado por profissionais treinados principalmente nessa população sem acesso ao atendimento oftalmológico. Conclusão: Os dados estatísticos desse estudo apresentaram grande parcela dos alunos de ambos os Centros de Ensino Fundamental analisados com algum vício de refração ou alguma outra patologia oftalmológica. O conhecimento da prevalência das ametropias nessa faixa etária é imprescindível para a adoção de estratégias precoces com o intuito de um correto diagnóstico e tratamento, além da prevenção de quadros oftalmológicos graves e atraso no desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor desses pacientes.
